Welcome to Blogs United: Here are answers to Frequently Asked Questions

What is Blogs United?

Blogs United is a group by and for local and regional progressive political bloggers.

What is the main focus of Blogs United?

Blogs United is a group focused on being a useful and relevant resource to local and regional progressive bloggers. The goal of the group is to link local and regional bloggers and support them with information, resources and ideas that they find useful, timely, and relevant.

What is the history of Blogs United?

Blogs United was formed in January of 2006 on DFA-link as "Bloggers United" by the California blogger kid oakland. He shortened the name and added a Google Group email ring called Blogs United 06 in August of 2006. You are reading the Blogs United Wiki that Aldon Hynes created here on PB wikis in September of 2006 (Increased website functionality funded through a generous gift from an anonymous California donor.)

How can I participate in Blogs United?

There's two ways. First, you can join DFA-link and simply join the Blogs United group. Second, you can email the group's organizer/moderator (kid oakland) and ask for an invite to DFA-link and to participate in the Google Group email ring. Blogs United has a satellite presence on the DNC Party Builder site as well.

Who is Blogs United for?

This group is by and for local and regional bloggers. Our focus is progressive politics. Our goal is to be broadly inclusive. Participants should either have a relevant URL they blog at or significant expertise relevant to local blogs and a willingness to serve as a resource to local political bloggers. The vast majority of the participants are local bloggers.

There are currently 170 DFA-link participants and 210+ Google Group participants representing over 27 States. This wiki will have some form of Blog Roll soon.
